A feature of Dotnetnuke that is not provided "out of the box" is the ability to share users in situations where a business has multiple website portals. 

We provide experience in a Dotnetnuke multi-portal website system that allows for single sign on and identification of users to multiple websites.  This allows for centralised storage of user information while providing the flexibility of having multiple websites that those users can register on and use.

One of the biggest issues with Dotnetnuke is performance.  Our experience has shown that performance can be greatly improved by using a non SQL database driven search engine.

Our enterprise search solution is an integrated Dotnetnuke module that indexes the website and stores the search data externally to the SQL database, improving performance and also providing indexing for file resources such as HTML and PDF files.

Dotnetnuke can integrate with Microsoft's Active Directory thus enabling users on a Windows Server network to seamlessly use a Dotnetnuke intranet and take full advantage of all its features without the need for replicating user accounts, security roles and passwords.
